Dates for Swearing-in of New Deputies and Senators Set in Argentina

The Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies, Adrián Pagán, has formally summoned the elected legislators to the preparatory session for their oath-taking in Congress. According to the document accessed by Noticias Argentinas, the event will take place on December 3rd at 13:00 in the Lower House. Meanwhile, the 24 senators elected in the October elections will be sworn into office at a preparatory session in the Upper House on November 28th at 11:00, but they will assume their seats on December 10th alongside the deputies. At the same time, the government is evaluating a potential split of the extraordinary session dates to tackle in batches the main reforms and bills it aims to pass in the second half of its term. In this way, the ruling party will seek to debate the 2026 Budget during December, from the 10th to the 31st, and include the debate on the fiscal presumption of innocence bill, presented as the 'Historical Reparation Plan for Argentines' Savings'. Although the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, intends to extend the sessions into January, it is most likely that there will be a recess during that month and activity will resume from February 1st to 28th.
